27/12/09: Higgs boson on eBay...
It was just a drunken conversation in the pub but it's all over the world now... Giant machines as big as 27km in circumference are trying to find so-called 'God particle', the Higgs boson. So I put one on eBay and the joke has grown arms and legs. Enjoy - and happy Christmas!
15/12/09: Win a copy of Apollo Memories PLUS a copy of Big Noise at Rock Radio!
To mark the republication of Big Noise, and the successul run of Apollo Memories giveaways we did on Billy Rankin's breakfast show, I'm giving away three sets of both titles on www.RockRadio.co.uk - but please not it's NOT likely they'll be delivered in time for Christmas due to staff holidays. Sorry about that - can't be helped.
14/12/09: Big Noise is back in the game...
After much messing around and annoying people by promising them then not delivering, my fourth book, Big Noise: The Sound of Scotland, is now available to buy for £9.75 as a paperback and £3.50 as a digital download. More info on the left. It's a light-hearted sideways look at the first 50 years of Scottish rock'n'roll history. It's far wider-ranging than Apollo Memories and doesn't stick to stories of the stars, but it's another great read and I'm proud of it. Hope you enjoy it!
13/12/09: KLD SLVR awakes...
It's a long way back for a band who wanted to be stars in the 80s, tasted it in the 90s, then split up and got real lives instead. But today we made another step towards getting it back together. I played the smallest kit I've ever used - just bass, snare, hihat and three cymbals. Great fun! We're putting the infastructure together over the coming weeks - you'd be amazed how stuff we thought was easy 15 years ago is much more of a problem when you have wives, kids, jobs and mortgages in the way. THAT'S why it's a young man's game - it's nothing to do with the music itself...
11/12 If you've ever wanted me dead...
One of the nicest things about work like mine is people deciding they know better than you about stuff they've only ever seen from outside, and assuming you're a git. And the thing is they're right - but not for anything like the right reasons, which is simply unfair to us all. Anyway, if you're one of the people who wishes i was dead, check this out...
01/12/09: SAHB Story revise update
It's been a busy year with Rock Radio and plans to revise SAHB Story haven't reached a conclusion. It's a work in progress and I hope to have it back for sale, complete with the story of how we got the band back on the road and what happened next, by the middle of 2010. I'll keep you posted...
Ch;M.
